This 3 hour class gives you the hands on experience of the content discussed in the first lecture. In order to facilitate a smooth flowing class it’s imperitive for you to have attended the introductory class. We start from the beginning with seed selection and storage, starting seeds indoors, building a light station, putting together a garden box, building the soil, making a grid, putting together the tomato tower, attaching the nylon netting to the tower, composting, how to construct a free compost unit, how to spot good compost vs. poor compost, vertical gardening, plant spacing in your new SFG, winter and summer protection, extending the season, etc. People leave this class with a much better understanding of how everything fits together. When returning to your neighborhoods you’ll be the newest expert on square foot gardening. While all your friends are wrestling with their roto-tillers and wet soil in the spring, you will have already had close to a month of growing fresh produce in your gardens-effortlessly. Everyone who attends this class has thoroughly enjoyed their time learning all the in’s and out’s of the square foot gardening system. Since this is a workshop for you and not the instructor, be sure to bring a pair of gardening gloves. Each class can hold up to a maximum of 30 people and the cost is $25 per person. I will collect this before the class starts. We will start on time so try not to be late. Payment is either with cash or check only-no credit cards. For an extra $5($30 in total) you may want to consider purchasing my ebook. As Mel says, it’s for beginners and experts. You can see the review of my ebook by Mel Bartholomew himself right here. This will take place at either my gardens or at a local neighborhood garden. It’s always nice to see what’s “real” vs. hearing things in a classroom setting. If you’re interested in attending you’ll need to register and fill out the necessary information under “Free introductory SFG talks/SFG workshop calendar” page on this site. All you need to do is find a date that works for you, click it, and register. For those interested in the possibility of hosting the workshop at their home please contact me. By the time our class leaves your garden will be completely installed and ready to go. What a deal that is! There will be several SFG workshops conducted during the spring, summer, and even fall for you to choose from. Once registered you will receive a confirmation. You’ll need to list a phone number that I can reach you in the event of poor weather. You’ll then be notified of when the class can be rescheduled. This class is for you so please remember to bring a pair of gloves!
