We will start from the beginning on this class.  The first hour will be a refresher course or an introductory course for those not familiar with the SFG method.  After that attendees will be doing all the work!  There is simply no substitute for hands-on training!  Please bring a pair of gardening gloves as you will be putting garden boxes together, mixing the soil, making tomato towers, assembling grids, attaching nylon netting, and learning how to plant your brand new square foot garden.  We will also be covering composting, vertical gardening and some of the more advanced techniques such as growing zucchinin in 1 square foot, keeping your gardens neat and tidy, how to secure corn and finally winter/spring protection.  We discuss starting and storing seeds, building a light station and lots of other fun stuff.  It will take 3 full hours and this will be followed by a question and answer period that will continue until, well, until we have all the questions answered.  If you would like to buy a square foot garden book please let me know that ahead of time.  It is not mandatory, but I think you will need one eventually as it serves as the best resource to answer your questions.  When you are done you will be able to go back to your homes and start building.  As an additional note, if you are willing to host this event at your home then we will be building your square foot garden.  If you’re intersted in doing this  please contact me in enough time so that I can add your home address to the site so we all know where to go.
