This short 75 minute talk is given at no charge at local libraries. During the class I will spend time discussing the 10 basics of square foot gardening. You’ll leave with a small pamphlet reinforcing all the points that we’ve talked about and will then be able to go home and get your square foot garden up and running. It’s an introductory class but it’ll give you the beginning tools to effectively install your gardens. For the complete course that gets into the more advanced square foot gardening techniques, my suggestion would be to attend one of the many workshops in the Salt Lake City area. The cost is minimal for the information you’ll receive. This is the class you’ll want to attend if you plan on extensive food production from your garden to save you and/or your family a lot of money. Please see the link to “Square Foot Garden Workshops” located under the “Events” section of the website. These introductory classes have been given at nurseries, local women’s groups, emergency preparedness groups, backyards, community gardens, local libraries and with Habitat-for-Humanity. Please contact me with any further questions you might have through my “Contact” page on this site. Happy gardening….

I just wanted to tell you that I think your website is awesome! I love what you’re doing and hope to be able to follow in your footsteps as soon as I can. I am local and wondering if you teach private lessons? I actually have 8 or 9 of my friends who have talked about learning how to SFG but we can never seem to get our schedules aligned. We’ll do just about anything to learn this system. I love the winter harvest idea. How on earth did you think of all of this? Thank you. Nick

I do give private lessons and have done them for several years. Send me your contact information(on the site)and I’ll get a hold of you to see if we can work something out. When I travel to do these SFG classes and workshops, there needs to be a minimum number of people. It’s a lot of work to put together for just 4 or 5 and I’ve had a few times when at least half the class didn’t show up. I cover all the basics and you’ll know exactly what to do. The winter harvest is something I’ve been toying with for several winters and have finally solidified things…I think you’ll like it….
