Learn it all in this 2-1/2 to 3 hour workshop. We start at the beginning-showing how to start seeds inside. Then we do all the things you’ll end up doing at home to install your SFG’s. We build a box, make Mel’s mix, put together a grid, and then we plant. We also spend a good amount of time on compost-how to make it, what goes into it, when it’s finished, and how to use it. We then spend the remainder of time building a tomato tower and how to attach thy nylon netting(the biggest headache of the whole system!), and then how to protect your gardens in the spring, fall, and winter. The cost is $30 per person and includes a bag of fall leaves to take home to begin building your compost heaps. Also available for $4 per packet are selected crops from Johnny’s Selected Seeds. These varieties may be a little pricey, but the quality are second to none and the varieties can’t be bought anywhere locally. You can register on this site below. Call me with any questions. We begin promptly at 12:00. Please bring a pair of gloves as this workshop entails the participants doing all the work. For larger groups that might be interested in attending, we can negotiate a price.
