About

My blog is mostly dedicated to the practice of  square foot gardening.  After comparing the yield of my traditional row garden to my neighbors square foot garden it was easy to see that I had to make a change.  And that’s exactly what I did.  I’m a certified SFG instructor who interned with the inventor of the SFG system many years ago.   Though I live in the greater Salt Lake city area, I teach classes locally and regionally about spring, summer, fall, and even winter gardening.   My site discusses composting, organic, and sustainable practices that go along seamlessly with the square foot gardening method.  Along the way, maybe gardening will become a passion and hobby for you as it has for me.

Wow, coming out with another ebook!?! Very nice. Look forward to reading it.
Everything you grow always looks so nice. Our weather here in Colorado has been nothing short of crazy this spring. We have gotten tons of moisture which is a good thing. But no heat! My garden looks ok, just making very slow progress.
Hope all is well in your world.

Hey Colin, how’s everything. Sounds like the weather isn’t helping you very much. Right now we’ve cooled down by 20 degrees from last week. You know what they say about the weather in the Rocky Mountain states. It’s slowed me down a little bit at this point as well, but in 2 weeks I should be really going strong. Cherry tomatoes already here along with tons of chard, carrots, and lettuce. Waiting for beans, squash, zucchini, carrots, basil, and beets. Are you growing anything new? I had a fantastic winter growing a bunch of new things that I’ve never tried before that ended up being just fantastic. Hang in there, summer will come….maybe just a little later….good to hear from you again. Are you still on the forum?…Jim
